Everything else is deliberately quiet. Small feather-like leaf shapes cover the cloth in a dense, even repeat, in light cream against soft lilac, so from a few steps away the fabric reads as a texture rather than a pattern. Then the dupatta ends in that one wide horizontal panel, packed with detail and touched with gold, and it carries the whole set.

A pastel is where hand printing is easiest to see and hardest to fake. Look closely and the repeats vary slightly in depth of colour, and the join lines shift by a fraction, because each impression comes from a hand-carved wooden block pressed down by an artisan in Bhagalpur rather than rolled through a machine.
